Refrigeration for Medical Storage

SUMMIT “MED” series includes refrigeration specially made for safe and convenient storage of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and other temperature sensitive materials. Available in compact, undercounter, chest style, or full-size front-opening, these units are designed to meet the demands of medical facilities with reliability and user convenience.

MED Series

All MED units include:

Factory installed locks for valued security. Single door units have front mounted locks; two-door units have separate side locks for each compartment. Additional keypad options are available on most models.
Internal fans on select refrigerators and freezers for even air circulation throughout the unit interior.
A hospital grade cord complete with “green dot” plug, especially important in high traffic facilities that can’t afford to have accidents dislodging the appliance plug from wall outlets.
Temperature alarms mounted on the door to warn users of interior fluctuations. Each alarm provides a digital display of the interior temperature. This allows constant monitoring of interior conditions while protecting stored contents from the temperature fluctuations associated with users constantly opening the doors.

Compact

Compact MED units include all the features of our larger models but in countertop “cube” sizes with 20-21” footprints. A matching refrigerator and freezer set (FFAR2L7MED/FS20L7MED) is commercially approved and available in white or stainless steel. Locks and temperature alarms are standard.

ADA Compliant

Most 24” wide refrigerators and freezers in SUMMIT’s MED Series are also available in a 32” height to fit under lower counters required to meet ADA guidelines. These built-in capable units maintain all the capacity of their taller counterparts and come in front-opening or drawer style.

Undercounter

Our undercounter series of MED models are designed for a variety of uses in need of space conscious storage. Built-in capable drawer, glass, and solid door units have unique 24” footprints, while our collection of freestanding refrigerators, freezers, and one and two-door refrigerator-freezers are offered with slim 20” widths.

Full Size

Many of our chest and full-sized models are also featured for medical use with thin-line widths that fit tight settings while offering generous capacity. All-refrigerator FFAR10FC7MED contains over 10 cu.ft. inside a 24" footprint, while the unique CP171MED is a 12 cu.ft. refrigerator-freezer with separate compressors for each section.
